Human society no longer depends on the natural world as we once did. Humans are now dependent on technology. We are living in a high technology society, and human activities affect our entire environment. I often wonder what will the world look like in 100 years. I like using contrast in my tension to create an atmosphere.
In my works, I use organic elements such as peach pits, roots, and icebergs. I use these organic elements in contrast to the man made machine in my works, and this combination helps create a surrealist scene of my imagined world. In Chinese culture, the peach pit is the symbol of the amulet, and it also represents the new-born of life. I feel like this theme could help to describe the narrative of my imagined environment.
